Our key focus in Dairy Farming is to empower our farmers on how to help them introduce Grade animals as a key to improving yield and making this farming practice economically viable. We intend to work with development partners and already established agricultural establishments to introduce exotic animal breeds to youth and women groups and help populate these breeds to improve on produce.
Blessed with consistent Bi-annual rainfall and good soil, the ward boast of a fertile environment for crop farming. 88% of the community in the ward relay on farming as a source of living. The main crops planted here is Maize, Beans, Sorghum, Ground nuts. Other crops are vegetable Kale, Cabbage, Carrots, Onion, Pepper and fruits Melon, Banana, with sugar cane and Rice having key prospects at the shores of our permanent rivers.
Almost every homestead in the ward rears poultry on a subsistent level. We aim to empower our community to rear poultry on a commercial level for both free range and caged poultry farming. The entry point is to implore on existing youth and women groups to take up this initiative and startup this type of farming both for meat and egg production. Equally to help assist already existing farmers improve on their farming.
